Horstedpond Farm, Uckfield

We would like to give you an update on our application of 400 new homes, 140 of which are set to be affordable homes on the land at Horstedpond Farm, Uckfield.

We have held an online public exhibition from 15th June 2022 until 31st August 2022, where we received a number of feedback forms from local residents. This has given us an excellent insight into the need for new homes for first time buyers, for affordable homes and has demonstrated to us that there is a real desire for solar panels to be included in the development to reduce CO2 emissions.

At Castlefort Homes, we have always been keen to promote walking and cycling across the site through a network of footpaths and cycle routes, to ensure that the site is well-connected and sustainable. Part of this vision will include bus access through an innovative partnership with Brighton buses.

The site is approx. 27.2 hectares and as well as promoting walking and cycling, we are now keen to hear from the residents of Uckfield, what the site can provide for the community, as there is a large amount of open and accessible green space included in the plans. There are a number of options on the table, including sports pitches, children’s playgrounds, tennis courts and improvements to Ridgewood Village Hall. However, we want to hear from the community so that we know what local residents think is best.

Areas of ecological value are very important to us. This is why we are keen to include hedgerows, trees and woodlands by making sure the development respects the natural features and enhances connectivity and access for residents to the countryside.
